Where is Otaki New Zealand? Map of Otaki
The rural village of Otaki is located near the north bank of the Otaki River. The area is of great historical importance to the Māori people: there are several maraes in and around Otaki, as well as a Māori secondary school.

The main attraction of Otaki is its proximity to the mountain trails of the Tararua mountain range. In Otaki Forks, you’ll find areas for picnicking, swimming, and camping. On the hiking trails, you can take from 30-minute walks to multi-day expeditions (there are several cabins for hikers in these mountains). Otaki Beach is wide and windy, which makes it a great place to go jogging or walking. General information: Approximate population of 5500 inhabitants, information center, variety of shops and services, railway station.
