Where Šiauliai Located?

The city of Siauliai with 127,000 inhabitants is located in the north of Lithuania, about 120 km southwest of Riga (capital of Latvia) and about 190 km northwest of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Siauliai is regarded as the economic, cultural and educational centre of northern Lithuania.

In the centre of Siauliai, original sculptures decorate the pedestrian area. Siauliai is also known for its artists and musicians, for the dramatic theatre, and a number of different museums. The only surviving architectural monument is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Apostle Peter and Paul from the Renaissance, as the city has unfortunately been devastated several times over the centuries by wars, pests and fires.
