Praia Map

Praia. It is the capital of Cape Verde, located on the island of Santiago (Sao Tiago), where visitors will find many civilian buildings, shops and markets to shop. Among the places of interest are the Botanical Garden of São Jorge, as it is the only one in the country, and the Cidade Velha (Old City), which was the first capital of the archipelago and has an impressive fort, São Filipe.

Praia has two beautiful beaches, Praiamar and Quebra-cinnamon, to the west of the rocky center of the city. About 20 kilometers inland from Praia is Sao Domingos, the nearest agricultural valley to the city.
