The city of Waco has its origins in the 40s of the 19th century. In 1866 a bridge was built over the Brazos River, which was the longest suspension bridge west of Mississippi at the time of its completion. The drink Dr pepper was invented here in 1885, the local Dr Pepper Museum represents the history.
He followed in 1937 the red soft drink Big Red. Baylor University was moved here in 1886. In 1964, the Texas Ranger Museum opened in Waco. In 1993, Waco was famous by a fight between the FBI and the sect of the Branch Davidians, which claimed 76 lives.
