Where is Corning Museum of Glass?

Whether as a work of art, object of use or component – the immense variety of glass in terms of its malleability, its properties and possible applications, as well as its long history and constant development, provides a lot of material for a Museum.

Corning, a small town in the state of New York, has had one since 1951. It was built on the occasion of the centenary of the special glass manufacturer Corning Incorporated on its production site and is today regarded as the largest of its kind in the USA with around 450,000 exhibits from 3,500 years of glass history. Over the decades, it has undergone several modifications and expansions; the most recent addition is a spacious north wing designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners of New York.
