In Northern Illinois, it runs from the university town of Champaign to the state’s main city, Springfield, through areas largely agricultural-shaped in this section to Quincy on the banks of the Mississippi River. Recently, the bridge over the Mississippi River, which leads to Hannibal, MO, has been included in the I 72 (not included here).
