Flag of Malawi
Malawi is a state in South-East Africa. Lake Nyassa (anc. Lake Malawi), it borders Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia. With an area of 118,480 km2, the country has a population of 15.5 million (2012).
It is a mountainous region of 1000 to 1800 m of altitude, crossed in the centre by the Chiré and in the West by the Tchambezi, tributary of the Congo, and the Loangoua, tributary of the Zambezi. The average annual temperature is 17°C; the soil fertile in rice, coffee, etc.
