Flag of Denmark

Denmark is a Northern European state. It is bounded on the West by the North Sea, on the North by the Skagerrak, on the East by the Kattegat and the Sund, and on the Southeast by the Baltic Sea.

To the South the mainland is separated from Germany (Schleswig-Hostein) by an ideal line which intersects the peninsula from the North sea to the Little Belt (Lille Boelt); a bridge crosses the Kattegatt between Copenhagen and Malmö.
