Where is Tataouine Located?

My travel to Tataouine takes me from Medenine on GP 19, first to Bir Lahmar. Again and again the mountains of the Dahar mountains appear in the distance. To the right and left of the road in the south of Tunisia are some experimental stations for Plant Breeding to be seen. Here plants and trees are grown to one day stop the migration of the desert to the North. Tunisia is a leader in this field after Israel and South Africa. Shortly before Bir Lahmar, a huge arch across the road welcomes me and informs me that I have just arrived in the province of Tataouine.

What Country is Tataouine in?

The small village of Bir Lahmar does not look uninteresting with the clock tower standing at the intersection. From here, many trails in the Berber villages. After a few kilometres I reach the town of Tataouine. At first glance, a spacious city with huge roads. Right at the First Street monument is also a newly built modern Hotel. The town of Tataouine is located in southern Tunisia and has about 60 000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the province of the same name.
