I was trying to find a place for checking out the city itself. We thought that it was a very nice town with an extensive beach System, shops and Restaurants where you can eat. We were there on a hot day with the low July sun and it was beautiful.

We were very impressed by the huge amount of large-scale boats along the Black River, which flows into Lake Michigan. There is even a draw Bridge. Many smaller boats in the river that does not go to Lake Michigan itself.
There are two common promenades to Lake Michigan going along that the Black River. They lead to different beaches. If you have views of Lake Michigan and take the boardwalk to the right of the Black River Drive to South Beach.

It is the, with the Light House and relatively calm waters. The boardwalk to the right of the Black River takes you to the North Beach, which has heavy waves. Both are beautiful beaches.
It is a very popular city and so it is hard to find. If you find parking, stay and get away where you want. In case you have an RV don’t think I’m in this town. We saw no places for camper is to the Park.
We have our day and understand why so many people make it a destination.
