Where is Oume Located?

Oumé is located in the Eastern part of the administrative region of Fromager. The region of Fromager with the capital Gagnoa covers an area of 6. 900km2 and about 800.000 inhabitants. Oumé itself has about 80,000 inhabitants.

Cocoa cultivation in the vicinity of Oumé is very important. In the case of two cocoa harvests per year, a large part of the economic performance in Oumé depends on this sector. In Oumé, cocoa is collected from the surrounding plantations, dried and stored temporarily. From Oumé the cocoa beans are packed in bags and transported to the ports on the coast.
