Naberezhnye Chelny is a large city located in the northeastern part of Tatarstan, on the left bank of the Kama river and the Nizhnekamskoye dam. City of two religions In the city live people of different nationalities and religions.
The largest groups are the Tatars, which make up approximately 47.42 per cent, and the Russians with 45 per cent citizens. Respectively, in Naberezhnye Chelny there are many Orthodox churches and mosques. The place of worship for Muslims in the city is the Tauba Mosque (translated from Arabic – “repentance”), which is located on the banks of the Kama.
