Nestled in the Valparaiso Moraine terminal moraine, separated by the eastern arm of the DuPage River, the Morton Arboretum consists of gardens with many plant species and tree collections.

The 6.9 square kilometer Arboretum has more than 4,100 different tree and shrub species as well as other woody plants from all over the world. In total, there are over 222,000 living plants. Visitors to the educational Morton Arboretum can take part in guided tours and enjoy the interactive “Children’s Garden”, the maze Garden and other special landscape areas.
