The Kansas City Zoo is located in Swope Park in Kansas City. More than 1,300 have found a new home in the zoo, which was founded in 1909. Particularly worth seeing is the Africa theme area, which was voted the best Africa area in an American Zoo in 2008. It is divided into the sub-areas Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Congolese Rainforest and is home to cheetahs, lions, Gorillas and elephants, among others. But also Australian animals like kangaroos or Emus can be found in the Kansas City Zoo. Another magnet for visitors, the Tiger Trail, which is directly adjacent to the Australia-area.
