Where is Hollywood Beach?
Hollywood is located on the east coast of Florida, near Fort Lauderdale and the port of Everglades in Broward County. Due to its proximity to the cruise port, Hollywood is an ideal spot to visit the city before or after a cruise. Port Everglades has nothing to do with Everglades Park. It is 70 km further south-west. Miami is in the immediate vicinity.
The name Hollywood is no coincidence. Joseph W. Young founded the city in 1920 to bring the film industry to the East Coast. Inspired by “Hollywood in the Hills” he founded “Hollywood by the Sea”. As early as 1926, the city was completely destroyed by a hurricane.
Today, Hollywood, with its beach and oceanfront Walk, is ideal for a beach holiday. There are numerous Restaurants, shops and events. Continue inside along the Hollywood Boulevards to the historic Downtown. There are galleries and the ArtsPark at Young Circle.
