Flag of Qatar

Qatar is a state in South-West Asia (Arabian Peninsula). It occupies a peninsula of 11,586 km2, completed by Cape Reken, advancing into the Persian Gulf and having a border with Saudi Arabia.

The capital is Doha (population 345,000); the other major city is AR Rayyah (population 273,000). The rest of the towns have a population of less than 30,000. Total Population : 1,951 million inhabitants.
The emirate is divided into 7 municipalities (baladiyat) : Ad Dawhah, Al Khawr wa adh Dhakhirah, Al Wakrah, Ar Rayyan, Ash Shamal, Az Za ayin and Umm Salal.
