Flag of Bolivia

Bolivia is a state of South America, in the central part of the Andes, and is landlocked between Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile. With an area of 1.098.580 km2 and a population of 9.8 million (2009), it is a republic, which is defined in its new constitution (Revision of January 2009) as a unitary social state.

And which is divided into 9 departments (departamentos; singular : departamento) : Beni, Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, La Paz, Oruro, Pando, Potosi, Santa Cruz, Tarija. The administrative capital is La Paz; the capital constitutional is Sugar. Other major cities include Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and Oruro.
