Andorran. Southern European country with an area of 468 km2, located in the Pyrenees between Spain and France, with an average altitude of 1 996 meters above sea level.
It is constituted as a social and democratic State of law, whose political regime is the principality of parliamentary democracy and has as its heads of State to the bishop of Urgell, currently Joan Enric Vives Sicília, and the president of the French Republic, currently François Hollande. The current head of government is Jaume Bartumeu Cassany and the official language is Catalan.
It has no armed forces of its own and its defence is the responsibility of Spain and France.In the event of emergencies and/or natural disasters, such as the floods that occurred in 1982, somatén is called up, made up of men over the age of 18 with Andorran nationality.
