The city of Zabrze, to German Hindenburg, is located in the south-west of Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Due to its location, approximately 90 kilometres Northwest of Krakow, and about 150 kilometers Southeast of Wroclaw, Zabrze became an important centre of Polish industry. The mining, iron and machine industries in particular have a long and traditional history in Zabrze. A visit to the industrial heritage as well as underground mining should not be missed during any visit to Zabrze.
