Where is Terrassa (Spain) Located?
The town of Terrassa is located less than 30 km from Barcelona in the immediate vicinity of the natural park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i Obac. Terrassa is one of the major Catalan cities whose development is closely linked to the events of the Industrial Revolution. This is why the traces of that era also shape the architecture of the city. The Catalan Art Nouveau is presented here as modernism Industrial, which is largely influenced by the architect Lluís Muncunill.
What Country is Terrassa in?
An outstanding example of this is the former textile factory Vapor Aymerich, Amat i Jover, which now houses the National Museum of Science and technology (mNACTEC). Another example of the aesthetics of Modernisme Industrial by Muncunill is the bright white Masia Freixa. Its arch-shaped structure is apparently inspired by Antoni Gaudí. Furthermore, the Casa Alegre de Sagrera represents the modernism of Terrassa in a particularly impressive way.
