About a two-hour drive from Chicago is Starved Rock State Park, one of the most popular attractions in Illinois. Thousands of years ago, when the glaciers in the region melted, they left behind the 18 Canyons, which are now a magnet for many local and foreign tourists. As a result, the landscape in Starved Rock State Park is very different from the rest of Illinois.

Especially in spring or after heavy rains, the Park develops into a paradise of waterfalls. And especially in Winter, a bizarre sight presents itself here, when the water freezes and the so-called Icefalls arise. But not only the Canyons offer all sorts of reasons to Marvel. In the surrounding area there are numerous other opportunities to see the Region in a very special way. Drive e.g. with the canoe or paddle boat along the river, swing on Zip Lines through the trees or – for the Brave – take a parachute jump from over four kilometers in height!
