Where is Sidi Bou Said Located?

One of the most beautiful places in the city of Tunis is the villa suburb of Sidi Bou Said, named after the mystic of the same name, who lived here on the hill in the 13th century and was later buried here. Sidi Bou Said owes its present view to the Andalusian refugees from Spain who once settled here and found a second home. As in their old home, they built their houses and furnished them with blue windows and doors, which were artistically crafted. Others followed them, and so the place has kept its charm to this day. The location on a hill by the sea gives the village an additional broadcast to our days.

When he died in 1231, he was buried there, and his Mausoleum became a pilgrimage destination, the village developed around slowly. Paved roads lead up the hill and give the view of the beautiful houses with the so typical nail doors and shutters.
