Where is Riobamba Located?

The city is located in the highlands of Ecuador and is surrounded by well-known volcanoes such as Chimborazo or Carihuairazo.
In 1797, the city was almost completely destroyed due to an earthquake, and two years later Riobamba – 15 kilometers from the original city – was rebuilt completely.
