What Country is Kumba in?
At our National Teacher Training Conference in November 1996, one of the topics offered was Cameroon. On the subject of Cameroon, there is already good teaching material for the primary school. For example, the workbook of Misereor: materials for Kindergarten and elementary school, J. BERN-HAUSER/K. H. floor home: “children experience the third world”, which has been available since 1977 for the lesson. This workbook is known to many colleagues and is still often and gladly borrowed from our archive. The focus of this portfolio is on two girls who live in Alme, a village in Cameroon. The village life of these two girls is vividly described and illustrated by numerous pictures. The folder also contains a wealth of stimulating materials (maps, Games, country information as well as considerations on didactics and methodology). So why reinvent the wheel and develop the topic once again on a training course? Some of the participants in this working group asked themselves this question.
