Where is Ko Adang Located?

The island of Koh Adang is located north of the island of Koh Lipe in the south of Thailand. It is located in the territory of Tarutao National Park, as well as Ko Lipe and some smaller islands. However, Ko Adang could hardly be more different than its neighbouring island Koh Lipe, which has long been occupied by tourism. On Koh Adang there are mainly natural jungles and only a small Resort without electricity connection.

The island of Koh Adang has many similarities with the two neighbouring Islands of Koh Rawi and Koh Butong. These islands are covered by dense virgin forests and their highest elevations are about 600 meters high. Koh Adang is a peaceful natural idyll. There are no roads or other infrastructure on the island. There is no electricity and hardly any buildings.

Only the administration of the national Park has a small building on the coast of Koh Adang, from where visitors hikes and tours with the boat company, and on the Southeast coast of the island is a small Resort with a very simple equipment originated a few years ago, so that you can now also spend the night on Koh Adang. The Marine National Park has existed since the 1970s. Since then, some park rangers have been monitoring the area and these measures have brought the practices of illegal dynamite fishing to a halt here. In this way, the underwater world has been able to recover as much as possible in the last 40 years.
