Where is Golden Gate Park Located?
Gardens, woodland meadows and tranquil lakes: Golden Gate Park is located right in the heart of San Francisco. A classic Park where all visitors, whether newcomers or enthusiastic Locals, will find something that inspires them.
The park’s hub is located in the northeast corner, where fountains and a music pavilion attract visitors. In the north of the park, the de Young Museum displays a selection of works of art from around the world. Take the elevator up to the top of the museum’s observation deck, which offers spectacular views of the Park, the city, the Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
Across the street from the museum is the equally impressive California Academy of Sciences with a Planetarium, an Aquarium, a four-story rainforest replica, and A History Museum. Also pay a visit to the nearby Japanese Tea Garden, which looks particularly stunning when the cherry trees and azaleas bloom in spring. There are many other treasures in the area that you can discover by bike. Rentals are available on Stanyan and Haight streets on the east side of the park; do not forget to also rent a castle. The Conservatory of Flowers features colourful paintings in front of the huge greenhouses, the botanical gardens provide the perfect habitat for birds and plants alike, and at the north-western end of the park you can even meet American Buffaloes.
