Flag of Micronesia

Micronesia is a group of islands and archipelagos located in northwestern Oceania. Those that Magellan recognized as the islands of the Larrons, form a long trail of about 2000 kilometers and dominate one of the large pits of the North Pacific.

The southern islands are coral, the northern islands are volcanic. We found imposing ruins on Tinian Island. Guam (500 square kilometres), the most important and southernmost island of this group, belongs to the United States; all the other islands form a semi-independent state, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas.
