According to a report by the World Tourism Organization, France received more visitors in 2016 than any other country in the world. More than 82.6 million visitors came to France to see such world-famous attractions as the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles and the Arc de Triomphe. Many of these important attractions are located in the capital of France, Paris, which is also among the largest European cities by population.
After France, the United States is the number two place for the world’s most visited countries. The U.S. welcomed about 75.6 million visitors to the country in 2016. Visitors come to the United States to see sights such as New York, Yellowstone National Park, Niagara Falls, and the Grand Canyon.
