Where is Temuco Located?

I hardly remember the city of Temuco that I visited during my trip to Chile. The Reason For This? I didn’t like this city. Temuco is a dynamic city with 300,000 inhabitants. Here is concentrated all the richness of the region Araucanía, which is, however, one of the poorest regions of Chile.

What Country is Temuco in?

Temuco, once home to the poet Pablo Neruda and the Mapuche Indian, is a relatively young Town. In 2010, it was shaken by a severe earthquake, which is why some buildings are still in reconstruction.

Among the most important points of Temuco is the Plaza de Armas with the Monumento Natural Cerro Ñielol and the Mercado Municipal, where you can discover handicrafts and gastronomic specialties of southern Chile such as Muday, an alcoholic drink based on wheat (or corn), water and honey.
