Norway, 323,802 km2, is a Northern European state. This state forms the western part of Scandinavia), 4.7 million inhabitants (2009),

capital : Oslo. Other important main cities : Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Bodö, Narvik, Tromsö, Hammerfest). It is a constitutional monarchy administratively divided into 19 provinces (fylker, singular : fylke). The country also has three overseas territories : Bouvet Island, Jan Mayen Island and the Svalbard archipelago (Spitzbergen).
