Granada (in Spanish Granada). – Town of southern Spain, in Andalusia, capital of a province of the same name, 700 km south of Madrid, at an average altitude of 686 m above sea level, at the foot of the northern slope of the sierra Nevada, on the banks of the Genil (left tributary of the Guadalquivir);
About 240,000 inhabitants (2007). From the heights that surround it, Granada has a wonderful look. In the circus of the Blue Mountains that enclose her, she spreads a “vega” shining with greenery in the middle of which stands a cluster of White Houses.
