Flag of Armenia

The Republic of Armenia is a landlocked state in western Asia, bordering Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Turkey.

It is a mountainous territory – the Aragats Lerrnagagat (Alagoez) reaches the 4090 meters – large as Belgium (29.743 km2) and populated by 2.97 million inhabitants (2010). Its capital is Yerevan (Yerevan), located at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres.
