What Continent is Slovenia in?
Is Slovenia in Asia Or Europe?
Slovenia is located at the point where the Alps meet the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Plain the karst world. This small green village covers 20,273 km2 of land area. It is among the states with an exceptional number of athletes and a rich cultural ferment. In Slovenia it is not difficult to compare the value of individual goods and services as they are expressed in one of the most important global currencies – in euros.
Slovenia is a small country, with about two million inhabitants, but it is also divided, like Italy, into several regions, each with its own peculiarities. In our articles on Slovely we try to always mention the region we belong to for each place we talk about. But it is not always easy to define the region unambiguously, this is because in Slovenia there are seven historical provinces, still widely popular, and as many as 11 so-called “statistical“ regions, which are those officially used today by the Republic of Slovenia.
As you may have noticed, we at Slovel prefer, like many Slovenes, usually prefer to name the historical provinces, because they are more significant and with much better known names (and often even more easily pronounced! Moderna compared to their modern equivalents. At the same time, however, the regional categories in which we have divided the site instead follow the statistical regions, this to simplify the search and division of our site. An easy way to understand the Slovenian regional division is to look at the license plates of cars, which (almost) always coincide with the region to which they belong.
