Burlington is a Mississippi town. The bridge goes over to Illinois. Burlington was the first major city of Iowa , where the nickname of the state, Hwak Eye State, was coined. Today, the daily newspaper here called Hawk-Eye. Keokuk and Fort Madison, both of the major locations in Lee County, are also bridges on the Mississippi River. In the latter, the bridge is chargeable. Keokuk borrows from the confluence of Mississippi and Des Moines River. In the vicinity of Mount Pleasant, swedenburg and Sweden settled with the center.
