Rossendale is a local government district in Lancashire, England, which has been granted borough status. Rossendale Council is located in Rawtenstall. The Rossendale district came into existence in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. It was formed from the districts of Haslingden, Rawtenstall, Bacup, part of Ramsbottom urban district and Whitworth urban district.
