Flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina (or Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a state of the Balkan Peninsula. From the breakup of Yugoslavia, was declared independent by part of the population in 1992.

There followed a civil war, which ended with the Dayton peace agreement (21 November 1995). Under the control of a United Nations stabilization force, and since 2004 under the control of EUFOR troops mandated by the European Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina has developed, within well-defined borders, into a federal democratic republic composed of two entities, the Bosnian-Croatian Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosnian-Serb Republic.

Part of the territory in the North-East, the Brcko district, although administered by Bosnia and Herzegovina, remains under international supervision.
