Luciliburgum is the capital of the grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It rises in the picturesque Alzette Valley , 85 kilometers southeast of Brussels; 76,700 inhabitants (in 2012).

It is divided into two parts : the Upper Town on the steep, affordable plateau only on the West Side; the Lower Town, 64 m below, in the Valley crossed by several viaducts; this one comprises three quarters : to the North Pfaffenthal; to the East Klausen; to the South Grund.
