Ireland (Eng. Ireland;Erin or green Island;  Hibernia is one of the British Isles. It is divided between two states. The Republic of Ireland or Eire, which occupies most of it and is divided into 26 counties, and the United Kingdom, which owns a portion to the north-east of the Island, Northern Ireland (part of Ulster).
