Uzhgorod is an old and original city, so called “window to Europe”. This is not surprising, as it is in the heart of the region of Zacarpatia, at the foot of the magnificent mountains, near the border with Slovakia.

The unique location and, in addition, the influence of the immense amount of different cultures, experienced for more than a thousand years, made the city one of the most attractive sites in Western Ukraine. The eclectic architecture of the Austro-Hungarian period is combined with the buildings of Czech constructivism and Soviet modernism which, in turn, are looming with Japanese cherry trees and magnolias.
