Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region, is at the center of the Eurasian continent, on the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain and on the edge of hoya Junger. Urumqi means beautiful grassland in Mongolian. It has an area of 10,900 square meters and a population of 1.75 million inhabitants.


Located at the foot of the snow-capped peaks of Tianshan Mountain, Urmuqi is the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China. The place became known to foreign visitors, mainly for its role as the last stop along the “Silk Road” .
