Sibenik, with 41,000 inhabitants, is a city and port in the north of the Dalmatian region, not far from the estuary of the Krka River, in the Sibenik Bay. The climate is mild.


Average air temperature in January is 6.5°C and 24.2°C in July, with around 2,750 hours of sunshine per year. The city can be divided into three sectors: in the highest part the old fortresses of Santa Ana and San Juan. On the slopes the narrow and steep alleys of the old city, and finally the Moderna part, stretching in the north and southeast.
