The shining star of the Renaissance in the architecture of Santa Barbara, the County Courthouse of 1929. The L-shaped building in the Moorish style includes a green, sunken courtyard and garden.

Above the cornice was carved the Motto of the city: “God gave us the Land. The abilities of Man have built the city.”Arched gates, open galleries and elegantly curved stairs give the interior of the steel frame building an elegant Flair. Ornate Tunisian tile mosaics and metalwork can be seen everywhere. In the Board of Supervisors meeting room on the second floor, the history of the Region is depicted on a mural by Dan Sayre Groesbeck. From the 26 m high clock tower you have a wonderful view over the city.
