Where is Požega Croatia? Map of Požega
In the so-called golden region of Croatia for having large expanses of cereal crops, Slavonia, is the quiet and cozy town of Pozega, the main city of the county that bears the same name.
Pozega is located on a fertile Pozeska Valley, has a population of approximately 30,000 inhabitants, most of whom are engaged in agriculture, livestock and the textile industry. Its origin dates back to the early thirteenth century when it was built on the ruins of the Roman settlement of Incerum on the banks of the Orljava River.
Since its foundation, Pozega has been one of the most inhabited and most important towns in central Slavonia, thanks to its location at the foot of hills full of vines, it made it easier for its inhabitants to build a medieval defensive fortress, on which its urban plot was developed.
