Only a narrow isthmus connects the peninsula with the continent. Its only neighbor is New Brunswick. Nova Scotia also includes the island of Cape Breton, famous for its picturesque National Park. Picturesque bays, magnificent forests and beaches, many cultural and historical sights, developed infrastructure have contributed to the fact that thousands of tourists visited New Scotland every year.
Compared with other Atlantic provinces, New Scotland can be characterized by a relatively high level of economy. This is largely due to the successful fishing industry and the availability of natural gas and oil fields being developed.
