Where is Kungsholmen located?
Kungsholmen is a district in the city center of Stockholm consisting of the island of Kungsholmen and the Essinge Islands, i.e. the districts of Kungsholmen, Stadshagen, Kristineberg, Fredhäll, Marieberg, Lilla Essingen and Stora Essingen.
Stockholm city centre is the central part of Stockholm Municipality as opposed to the outer city, which consists of Västerort and Söderort. Within the city center of Stockholm, and especially in the city of Stockholm on the lower Norrmalm and in the old town, most of Sweden’s parliamentary and political institutions, most of the historical buildings worthy of Stockholm and a significant representation of the country’s financial and banking activities are located.
