Karlovac is an urban core that encompasses numerous communication routes of the northernmost area of Croatia, 55 km southeast of Zagreb. This Moderna city contains about 60,000 inhabitants. The rivers Kupa, Mereznica, Korana, and Dobra surround the city.

Its name is due to its founder, Archduke Charles II of Habsburg, who created it as a military fortress to defend against the Turks.
