Where is Joshua Tree National Park?
In the southeast of California lies the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park, named after the quite rare Joshua Palm lilies that roam the park area. In addition, numerous beige-brown rocks tower up here in the otherwise barren desert, which represent an interesting contrast to the Vegetation.
In the past, gold and silver were mined in mines on the park grounds, but cattle were also kept – despite the extreme heat from spring to autumn. Today, however, views and hiking trails attract visitors, who appear numerous on weekends due to their relative proximity to major cities in the Pacific, especially Los Angeles and San Diego.
