La Garenne-Colombes is a town of Hauts-de-Seine, located in the Île-de-France, 10 km north-west of Paris.

In the heart of a loop of the Seine, the city was officially founded in 1910, the early part of the city of Colombes.

The La Garenne, forest area with abundant play, long dependent on the abbey of St. Denis, and from 1684 more owners succeed. Is now national property in 1790, La Garenne is subject to new transactions under the first empire. The owner of Napoleon’s personal physician, Corvisart, then Banker Sartoris. At his death in 1833, the first village is created. A railway station is in 1837 then begins a real urbanization (avenues, squares…). The population is growing and in 1910 the city became autonomous. There are already almost 15 000 (against almost 29 000 today).
