Where is Black Island (Philippines) Located?
Black Island is located Philippines. Black Island is the furthest west off Busuanga Island. It is located on the edge of Gutob Bay and the distance to Coron is 46 kilometers as the crow flies. Nine kilometers east of Black Island lies the small town of Busuanga on Busuanga Island at about the same altitude.
The 20 to 30 Meter long, high swell shows that you are already in the open South China Sea. Further north and West there is only water and after 1300 kilometers you reach Hong Kong in the North, 1,200 km west lies Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon.
What Country is Black Island in?
In the Corong Galeri locales of Coron / Palawan we have heard, in Black Island there are limestone caves, there men from the Tagbanua people climb after the swallows, because the Chinese pay hard Dollars for the ‘Births Nest Soup’ and in addition the island is surrounded by beautiful coral banks.
But where is Black Island? It is not to be found on any map and also the otherwise inexhaustible Manual of Jens Peters knows nothing about this island. Jürgen and I rent a Banca in Coron, the Driver supposedly knows where Black Island is located. On the map, he can show us the location of the island. He points West and says: ‘Far away. Minimum four hours!’We start at 8: 30 am and follow the course of the driver with Compass and GPS. When we land on Black Island shortly after 11 o’clock, we also know the location of this beautiful island.
