The city of Bangor, located at the westernmost point of the North Wales Route, in the Gwynedd region, is one of the smallest in the United Kingdom. Of course, it has one of the largest slate quarries in the world, as well as the second longest pier in Wales, the Garth Pier.

A university town since 1884 and a lover of culture, there is a devotion to classical music here, and concerts are regularly held in the Powis and Prichard Jones halls, organized by Bangor University itself. Its main street, the High Street is the longest street in the country, and also here is one of the oldest friars schools, the Ysgol Friars, whose foundation dates back to 1557.

Sport also has a place in this small town, which has its own football team, Bangor FC, and has won the Welsh League three times, in addition to having participated in it since its inception. The Welsh Cup has been awarded to Bangor FC on seven occasions, most recently in 2009.
